Our Team

  • A man with curly red hair and a beard sitting on rocks outdoors during sunset with a black dog behind him, under a partly cloudy sky.

    Jeremy McEwen

Jeremy lives life by the motto “no Bluegrass concert left unturned.” In the winter, he moonlights as one of Winter Park Resort’s most highly esteemed patrollers. In the summer (when he is not pushing bike pedals, pulling oars, or running from moose with his dog, Neva,) he can be found consulting with our team in the trees, bringing his 20 years of Colorado State Forestry experience to Woodchuck Forestry.

  • A man sitting in the driver’s seat of a yellow John Deere bulldozer holding a dog. The bulldozer is outdoors with a partly cloudy sky and mountains in the background.

    Peter Volk

Born and raised in Tabernash, Pete has been logging since he was knee high to a grasshopper! Pete’s self-loading log truck makes him one of very few loggers with this kind of massive iron in the county. There are few trained with the knowledge and expertise that he has earned. When not in the cab of “Pistol Pete’s Log Truck,” or under his skidder, he can be found giving back to the community at a food kitchen. A true one-of-a-kind, we are privileged to work with such a generous, solid, and humble man.

  • Person sitting in green grass holding a black bear cub.

    Brett Gingery

Brett is fourth generation in Grand County. He has spent 3 decades honing his ability to operate all sorts of equipment and, most importantly, keep said equipment running. A workaholic by nature, he enjoys the physical and operational challenges of forestry. His two boys, lovely wife, and a herd of Tibetan Yak keep him fully engaged when he is not lost in the trees or turning bolts.

  • Cody Keith Bickle

Cody has numerous talents but his ability to plan and execute safely while dangling from a tree are second to none. Cody has spent his life in the forest and follows the footsteps of his Dad who also was in forestry. He knows knots that hurt the muscles in the heads of most folks.

  • A man wearing a white safety helmet, plaid shirt, and work gear, carrying a chainsaw on his shoulder, walking through a forest with fallen trees and branches.

    Philip VanBockern

Phil is a lifetime forestry professional. His high energy and dedication to the detail are hard to find in the world of forestry. Phil can look at a job that most would declare as impossible or way too expensive, and find a way to get it done. Legend has it, at the end of these jobs, his final instructions are always, “everybody just needs to find one more stick and we are done.” In between spicing up chainsaws and tramping all over the backcountry, he enjoys coaching youth baseball and football.
